International Forum on Alcohol and Health
Conference Introduction
The International Alcohol and Health Summit, which began in 2013, has successfully held two sessions to date. The conference is jointly organized by the China Alcoholic Drinks Association, the China National Research Institute of Food and Fermentation Industries, and the International Joint Research Center for Quality and Safety of Alcoholic Beverages. It is undertaken by Qinghai Mutual Aid Highland Barley Wine Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking, the University of Barcelona in Spain, Imperial College London in the UK, Wageningen University in the Netherlands, the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, and Osaka University in Japan. The inaugural event was successfully held in 2017 in Huzhu, Qinghai Province.
As the first international conference in China's brewing industry with the theme "Alcohol and Health," the summit has invited well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad in the field of alcohol and health research. They have discussed in depth from scientific and cultural perspectives on the nutritional value and health component mechanisms of alcoholic beverages, alcohol metabolism and addiction mechanisms, neuroscience and consumer science, and rational drinking and disease prevention. The summit has shed light on future direction and research approaches so as to help consumers cultivate a healthy drinking style, and promoted the comprehensive, healthy, and sustainable development of China's Baijiu industry.
